my nights
on a rainy night
i think of you
through the drops
solemn and silent
with eyes revealing all
known

on a chilly night
i feel you
breathing slowly and surely
all hugged up
to the one that loves you
best

on a damp night
i dream of you
on the opposite side
as hot as it is
touching me
knowing i am yours to
hold

on a dark night
unaware of the scene
i envision your lips
forming my name
finally believing that
i am the
one

and on a perfect night
i lie wide awake
waiting and waiting
for the moment
of your homecoming
knowing that it will never be
here
