Do you know
The difference between
Fear and fright
The former is
An involuntary emotional response
The latter
A voluntary mental assessment
How often do we allow
Our fears to
Metamorphous into fright
How often is apprehension allowed
To transform itself into stagnation
Why have we become
So frightened of falling down
When each time we stand up
It strengthens our resolve
We approach the newness with trepidation
Even though our old ways might be
Stifling our growth
For many, success is an unknown entity
So is it failure which really frightens us?
We become acclimated with mediocrity
Because subconsciously
Many of us cannot handle
The magnitude of our own greatness
When we deny ourselves
The opportunity to simply try something different
Defeat becomes inevitable
Complacency assumes the position
Happiness should rightfully occupy
The ability to exceed our own limitations
Frightens us immensely
Rendering us incapable of flight
"fear is the darkroom where negatives are developed"
...fright is a physiological reaction to a perceived threat,
fear just paralyzes...either way, it keeps us stuck until we do something about it...as my mom would say 'either...ish or get off the pot'...your message is heard. Keep preachin the word, Bro. Eddie...you do it so well. 12/26/2006
